Hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose is a water-soluble cellulose mixed ether that has the properties of both CMC and HEC. It has high hydration binding capacity and good flocculation on suspended solids. In addition, hydroxyethyl methylcellulose also has the functions of thickening, adhesion, emulsification, film formation, suspension, dispersion, water retention and providing protective colloid. It is soluble in hot or cold water, does not precipitate at high temperatures or boiling, and has a wide range of solubility. Hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose contains hydroxyethyl groups, so it has good anti-fungal ability. It has good viscosity stability and anti-fungal degeneration during long-term storage.
